WOW – here are some examples of our larger than life flowers inspired by artist Georgia O’Keeffe.
Georgia Totto O’Keeffe was an American artist. She is best known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers, and New Mexico landscapes.
The children in Ms Quinn’s 2nd class used O’Keeffe’s paintings of flowers as a stimulus. They then created their own individual flower using any colour paint of their choice. I think Georgia would have been very proud to have inspired such wonderful paintings.
Georgia had an exhibition in IMMA a few years ago and Ms Shanley’s class at the time went to see it. (Think the girls might be in 5th now)
