On Saturday March 25th, in St. Chóca’s Church, we shared a lovely Confirmation ceremony with the children of St Joseph’s School, here in the parish of Kilcock. Bishop Denis Nulty together with Father John Brickley and Father George Augustine delivered a lovely ceremony, engaging all present with their knowledge and questions about St. Teresa of Calcutta. We are very grateful to the Church Choir who provided a lovely arrangement of songs about the Holy Spirit, in keeping with the theme of the event.
We extend our thanks to their parents and to teachers Ms. Diggin and Ms. Mahon who ensured the children were very well prepared for the sacrament. Such thorough preparation meant the pupils were all very relaxed and enjoyed their ceremony.
The children of Sixth Class read and sang beautifully throughout the ceremony. St. Teresa of Calcutta reminds us that “we can do no great things; only small things with great love”. Such love was conveyed through the preparation of the children at home and in school for this special day. They went on to celebrate the receipt of their sacrament together with their sponsors and families for the rest of the day. Many congratulations to all our pupils who were confirmed that morning.
