Maths Madness

Ms. Grimes’ Junior Infants embracing maths week.

  • Maths in the yard. There are lots of opportunities for learning in our school yard. We found different 2D shapes and identified numbers 1-10 on the numbers lines. 
Maths in other areas of the curriculum. During our art lesson this week, we designed and drew a witch’s hat. We created different patterns (early skills in the area of algebra) using a variety of 2D shapes and colours. 
Bee bots. The children had really good fun using the bee bots. They develop  early problem solving skills and use language of position and direction.
