The fifth and sixth class girls have been learning a lot about World War 2. They read John Boyne’s novel ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’. The girls learned about the contrasting lives of the two main protagonists ‘Bruno’ and ‘Shmuel’. Boyne enabled the girls to see how the boys’ world of innocence turned into a world of ignorance. In response to the novel and the work being covered in History, each of the girls created their own scrap book filled with activities based on the novel and on World War 2.
