We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded our ninth Green Flag for the theme of Global Citizenship- Travel. We worked very hard throughout the year ensuring that we traveled more actively and didn’t idle in our cars. We took part in many events over the year such as Clean Air Week, scooting workshops and Fresh Air Friday. To commemorate our wonderful achievement, we had a flag raising ceremony where we welcomed many special visitors to our school- Karen Moore (An Taisce), Paul Ward (Town Councillor in Kilcock) and Jim Kenehan (local voluntary group promoting sustainable travel in Kilcock.) We recited poems, sang songs and our Green School Committee were presented with certificates for their super efforts in achieving our flag.
A special thank you to our Green School Committee and staff, especially Ms. Goggin, Ms. Sheil, Mr. Campbell Grogan, Ms. Rattigan, Ms. O’ Reardon, Ms. Flahive and Ann Campion for their efforts.
Here are some snippets from the ceremony. Comhghairdeas.
