In a bid to achieve our STEM Award, we celebrated STEPS Engineers Week last week in Scoil Chóca Naofa.
Engineers Week encourages young people, their teachers and parents to explore the fun world of engineering. It generates an interest and enthusiasm for engineering in our everyday lives.
The children engaged in lots of engineering activities throughout the week such as creating robots and building bridges, working with bee bots, completing the tallest tower challenge and using STEM kits to complete various engineering challenges with Mr. Carey. Our Sixth Class girls participated in a coding workshop with Microsoft and received certificates. Thank you to Mr. Oosterveld for facilitating this session.
